New Fastpic5 OP Inventory Management Software Provides Increased Levels Of Accuracy & Productivity With Host Integration

The new FastPic5 OP (Order Processing) inventory management software, developed to improve throughput, accuracy and storage density with ease of use in mind, will be on display at the Promat 2009 in booth #2644. The latest version of the FastPic software is designed to manage virtually all manual and automated storage and retrieval systems. From managing a single workstation to multiple work zones, the software may be configured for multiple applications within organizations. New features of the FastPic5 OP software include improved inventory control functions, document management, graphical bin and shelf configuration and host integration; all built on Microsoft .Net technology giving organizations the agility to quickly respond to business demands. The Standard Interface Protocol provides an efficient link between host order entry systems and FastPic5 software, as well as many WMS and ERP systems. A certified business partner with SAP, FastPic5 OP has the ability to seamlessly integrate with a customer’s SAP system. In addition, FastPic5 it is built on the latest Microsoft .Net platform, providing organizations with the latest technology available, an important feature to keep applications running for years to come. The new FastPic5 is available in multiple cost-effective levels and includes features for managing multiple work zones, shelving and rack, pick-to-light, carousels, and vertical lift modules. A myriad of features including supervisory reports, photo parts library and barcode scanning are available. The FastPic5 OP software uses batch picking and put-away to improve worker picking speed and increase throughput. Whether an organization is directing pickers with optimized printed lists or using pick-to-light technology in manual or automated equipment, the intuitive and easy to use software will direct operators and managers quickly. As material is presented to an operator, the shelf, tray, carrier or bin is graphically displayed in 3D within the software. This aids in directing the operator to the exact location of the product, increasing accuracy levels to 99.9%. With the material storage location displayed graphically it is easy to view wasted space within the storage device, whether it’s shelving, rack, carousels or vertical lift modules. The new graphic display in FastPic5 allows users to easily move or re-slot product to increase storage density within the storage medium. A material document library allows every part number or family of parts to have an image available to promote quick and accurate picking. This is especially important for facilities which have high turnover, creating opportunities new trainees and temporary employees. A document library including CAD, PDF, Word, Excel, .JPG among others can be attached to every material or family of materials, providing additional documentation with a click of a button. This is ideal for increasing accuracy levels in facilities with busy quality control, receiving or packing departments. This can eliminate the walking, searching and hunting for supporting documentation. FastPic5 suite of software comes as the fifth major software generation from FastPic Systems, Westbrook, ME in 25 years. Like previous generations of FastPic software, current users of all FastPic software will be able to migrate to this new generation quickly and easily.
